One of the most traditional championships on the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) calendar, the IEM Katowice 2021 starts on February 16th. There are 24 teams in the running, including MIBR, FURIA and Team oNe, all fighting for a share of the US$1 million (R$5.4 million) prize pool. The tournament, which this time is not a Major, is another one to use the online format in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Of the 24 teams participating in the tournament, eight of them are already guaranteed presence in the group stage due to good results in the qualifiers played last year. They are FURIA, FaZe Clan, Astralis, G2, Heroic, Evil Geniuses, Team Vitality and Natus Vincere
